SHAPE, SHAPE AND MORE SHAPE!!!
Our second Maths focus for this term has been Shape. As Grade 2's and 3's we don't need to know the shape names (because we already learnt them) but we have to know the properties of shapes. As a class we discussed the different properties of shape and then Patrick sent us on a shape hunt! We had to search around the classroom for different 2D shapes. Once we found them we had to interpret their properties and write them into a data table.
The properties of shape are:
Edges
Faces
Vertices
HEY! BREAK IT UP!!!
Our year has started off with a bang and we have hit the ground running! For Maths we have been learning about Place Value and have been practising breaking up numbers. This is a great skills to have because it helps us with understanding numbers. It will also help us with adding and subtracting tricky numbers together!
